Dr. Dorninger ND, LAc, is a Naturopathic Physician and Licensed Acupuncturist. He graduated from Bastyr University (www.bastyr.edu), the leading accredited university for science-based natural medicine. At Bastyr, he completed five years of training in naturopathic medicine and acupuncture.

Prior to medical school, he received his B.A. in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1997. During this time he also finished his E.M.T. (Emergency Medical Technician) training and volunteered at Porter Care Hospice in Denver. In addition to practicing medicine, Eric enjoys teaching Anatomy and Nutrition at Naropa University, practicing Jiu Jitsu and spending time in nature with his wife and two sons.

Specialties

Dr. Dorninger works predominately with chronic disease. Chronic disease is when a person suffers a symptom or myriad of symptoms that are not resolving. He specializes in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases like Hashimoto’s, Lupus, Rheumatoid arthritis and cardiovascular disease. He is well versed in natural approaches to diabetes, fatigue, mood disorders and headaches and other pain syndromes.

Education and Accreditation

Eric Dorninger is NABNE board a certified naturopathic doctor, as well as an NCCAOM board certified and Colorado State licensed acupuncturist. He is also a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP), and the Colorado Association of Naturopathic Physicians(CoANP).

His medical training was at Bastyr University, a fully accredited 5-year medical university. The curriculum includes history taking, physical exam, laboratory medicine, diagnostic imaging, conventional and functional diagnosis, referral, and management. Therapies include minor surgery, pharmacy, counseling, botanical medicine, dietary and nutrient therapy, physical medicine, exercise prescription, homeopathy, and other modalities.

His Acupuncture training was also completed at Bastyr University and included traditional Chinese medical diagnosis, acupuncture and oriental medical techniques, Tui Na massage, and Chinese nutritional therapy.

Genevieve Lamancusa

Genevieve Lamancusa, FNP-C

Genevieve is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, qualifying her to diagnose and treat individuals in all stages of life. She began her career in health care by working for a homecare organization in Boulder, Colorado, providing care for the elderly and disabled in their homes. Since that time, she has logged over 11 years of experience in various areas of patient care (Certified Nurse Aid in a nursing home in Boulder, Registered Nurse at Boulder Community Hospital, and family practice as a Nurse Practitioner). Highlights include clinical rounds with infectious disease, women’s health, and various primary care clinics. Genevieve also worked in a busy primary care clinic in Montrose before coming to Roots and Branches.

In addition to her clinical experience, Genevieve also has a prolific academic background that includes a Master of Science in Nursing from the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at the prestigious University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and three bachelor’s degrees (a BS in business marketing, a BA in environmental studies, and a BS in nursing). Genevieve has also received training from the Institute of Functional Medicine.

Although Genevieve appreciates and utilizes her in-depth training in conventional medicine, her preference is discovering the deeper underlying causes of a patient’s illness.

In addition to partnering with patients experiencing complex health care scenarios, Genevieve offers Primary Care Services including, but not limited to, annual exams (male and female exams), acute care (sore throats, UTI’s, sinus infection, asthma), bioidentical hormones, and mood disorders.

In her free time, Genevieve enjoys meditation, hiking and climbing outdoors, and spending time with her husband of 13 years.

Dr. Sarah Dorninger ND, LAc completed  her religious studies degree at Reed College and went on to Bastyr University pursuing her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and Master of Science in Acupuncture.  After years of  private practice, Sarah took a break from medicine to focus on raising and nourishing her lovely kiddos.

Sarah currently serves as administrative and medical oversight role for Roots and Branches clinic.  She is an integral part of  the Roots and Branches "village" that supports each individual patient through the diagnostic and treatment phases of healing.

Katy Draper N.C., E.P.C., is certified in holistic nutrition and eating psychology. She works with clients to bring passion and health back in to their lives which can include naturally healthy metabolism, judgment around body and food, binge eating, digestive concerns, and re-vitalizing health with healing foods. She loves inspiring people’s passion for cooking, teaching them how to use new ingredients, and sharing the power and beauty of a seasonal and whole foods diet.

Katy received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in business administration with an emphasis in accounting. She later went on to receive holistic nutrition studies and certification through Bauman College in Boulder, Colorado. Katy also trained at the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, the world’s leading school in Nutritional Psychology where she received her certification as an Eating Psychology Coach.
